Whilst working on Greenshoot's education projects it became apparent that the other aspect of working with young people that was important in their lives was engaging them with their own communities and understanding other people's cultures. We decided quite quickly that each project brief should be informed by the young people involved interviewing community members. Greenshoots decided to form a community interest company, OFFSHOOTS EAST MIDLANDS C.I.C. to provide a platform to bid for, and raise money for the communities we work in. The result has been that we have accumulated an archive of fantastic interviews that have informed and helped design the projects we have undertaken. Through gaining experience of this important work we have also been lucky enough to be invited to work on a variety of community and Heritage projects.
